The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office successfully tracked down the elusive individual, who is suspected of involvement in a series of county burglaries.
In a dramatic turn of events, a wanted man was apprehended in southeast Portland following a widespread manhunt
This high-stakes pursuit began at approximately 6 a.m. when deputies from the sheriff’s office identified a vehicle believed to be connected to multiple burglaries. Upon attempting to initiate a traffic stop, the driver, identified as a wanted man, hastily fled and subsequently crashed on Southeast 82nd Avenue near Henderson Street.
Tragically, a female passenger in the vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and received medical care at a nearby hospital. However, a wanted man managed to evade authorities, sparking an intense search operation.
Leveraging the combined efforts of K9 units, drones, and the Portland Police Bureau’s fixed-wing aircraft, a relentless search spanning multiple blocks around Southeast 82nd Avenue was carried out
Finally, around 11:20 a.m., the Special Emergency Reaction Team located the fugitive hidden inside a vehicle. A wanted man’s identity remains undisclosed, but the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office took him into custody without further incident.
Public Information Manager Mike Benner of the Portland Police Department emphasized the keen observation of CERT officers who noticed foggy windows, ultimately coaxing the suspect out of hiding.
