The US Department of Justice stated Thursday that a 33-year-old Houston man had been found guilty of keeping a teenage girl without her will and bringing her on a three-day cross-country journey.

Wilmer Rivera-Hernandez admitted guilt to traveling across state lines to have sex with a child.

According to U.S. Attorney Alamdar S. Hamdani, Wilmer Rivera-Hernandez brought a 15-year-old girl on a date in June 2020. But despite the victim’s wishes, the celebration allegedly turned into a 3-day journey throughout the nation.

The girl requested Rivera-Hernandez bring her home, but he allegedly declined and instead took her outside of the Houston region. Rivera-Hernandez allegedly purchased alcohol throughout the trip and pressured the youngster to consume it, threatening to harm her and her loved ones if she disobeyed.
