Greenville High School (GHS) administration declared an emergency lockdown at 10:45 a.m. after receiving a report about a possible gun-wielding student on campus.
The student was quickly located by the Greenville Police Department, who responded quickly by racing to the school. They quickly arrested the student after finding a pistol among his possessions. The student was arrested without incident, and the process of taking him to prison went well.
Chief of Police for Greenville, Justin Lovvorn, states that when the student was found, there were rumors that there was an additional firearm on the school grounds. This rumor was later refuted by a comprehensive investigation, nevertheless, as no supporting evidence was discovered.
