As reported by authorities, a petrol station owner in South Carolina was indicted with killing on Monday after reportedly hitting and murdering a 14-year-old kid who he mistakenly thought was stealing water bottles.
According to the Richland County Sheriff’s Office, Rick Chow, 58, was detained and accused of the deadly killing of Cyrus Carmack-Belton in Columbia, South Carolina.
Regarding Chow’s concerns, Sheriff Leon Lott stated during a press conference on Monday that the boy wasn’t a stealer from the Shell gas station.
He never stole anything from a store. No proof that he took something at all exists, according to Lott.
Before Cyrus got out of the business and ran away, according to the cops, he witnessed a verbal argument inside.
According to Lott, the owner of the convenience shop, who police claimed was carrying a gun, and his son followed the teen towards a residence.
