Johnson County Council Members Approve $400,000 Funding for Tornado Debris Cleanup Following Severe Damages
$400,000 in funding for tornado debris cleanup was approved after residents suffered from severe damages caused by one tornado after another, wherein the approved funding is expected to pay for the entire cost to finish the tornado debris cleanup across the county.
According to a report published in Daily Journal, the funding for the tornado debris cleanup would be spent to renovate infrastructures and houses severely damaged by the tornadoes as affected residents were forced to spend days at their neighbors’ houses due to their houses being damaged and only hoped for a tornado debris cleanup from the local government.
Despite severe damages brought by tornadoes in the county, the damages were not enough to be considered a federal disaster, which led to the local government covering the cost of the tornado debris cleanup, wherein Johnson County council members did not even hesitate to approve the $400,000 funding for the tornado debris cleanup as long as it would help several affected areas.
