Aurora Animal Services and the local Police Department reported that Fred caused multiple traffic disturbances and property damages.
A notorious 400-pound pig named Fred, who wreaked havoc during a two-week crime spree, has finally found a new abode
After a brief period, authorities successfully apprehended the hefty hog, giving him the moniker Fred the 400-pound pig, and putting an end to his spree. Since September 27, Fred the 400-pound pig, had been residing at the Aurora Animal Shelter, apparently abandoned due to his size and the uncertainty of how to handle him. Due to regulations, residential properties in Aurora generally prohibit keeping pigs, posing a challenge in finding Fred the 400-pound pig, a permanent residence.
Aurora Animal Services persevered and eventually found the perfect match: the Eads High School Future Farmers of America (FFA) program
On Friday, Eads staff collected Fred the 400-pound pig, from the shelter, welcoming him into their fold. The City of Aurora announced that Fred will play a crucial role in the livestock husbandry education program. Moreover, there’s the potential for Fred to participate in reproduction cycles with the school’s female pigs, provided he shows an inclination for it. This new chapter promises a brighter future for the once-wayward 400-pound pig, now embraced by the educational community.
