The Pittsfield Police Department and Pike County Sheriff’s Department have made recent arrests as part of an ongoing investigation in Pittsfield, Illinois.
On January 4th, law enforcement officers apprehended Michael Capps, 59, from Pittsfield, while he was operating a vehicle at 157 W. Kellogg. This occurred prior to the execution of a search warrant. Mr. Capps was arrested for driving with a suspended license and for unlawfully possessing less than five grams of methamphetamine during the traffic stop.
Upon arrival at the residence, officers proceeded to execute the search warrant. During the search, they successfully located and confiscated methamphetamine, digital scales, and paraphernalia associated with methamphetamine use. As a result, Capps was taken into custody for the offense of unlawful possession of less than five grams of methamphetamine.
Shelly (LaRock) Evans, 52, received a citation for possessing less than five grams of methamphetamine unlawfully. Evans has a previous record of methamphetamine offenses and had previously been sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections for such crimes.
The authorities issued a citation to each individual and subsequently released them in accordance with the Safe-T Act.
