A 19-year-old driver was arrested for driving under the influence after hitting the back of Colorado Springs police car on Saturday.

CSPD Arrests 19-Year-Old Driver for DUI

19-year-old driver Esteban Marcelino crashed into the back of a police car after trying to back his truck out of a parking lot. He tried to flee and left the area after the accident, but the authorities were able to arrest him after performing a traffic stop.

The Colorado Springs Police Department reported to Fox News that they were conducting a crime pattern prevention when the 19-year-old hit the car.

Thankfully, no one was injured in the accident, and there was only minor damage to the police car’s rear bumper sustained from Marcelino’s negligence.

Other DUI Cases in Colorado

Aside from the 19-year-old driver, some other Colorado drivers were arrested after hitting police cars in a tragic accident while driving under alcohol.

A driver named Alexander Thomas was arrested for Vehicular Assault DUI after hitting a police car, while another driver, Cole Sherod, was arrested for suspicions of DUI and other traffic offenses when he crashed into a police car, which caused serious injuries to two officers.
