A Deputy District Attorney claimed at the man’s hearing Friday afternoon in the Nassau District Court that the Brooklyn individual believed he was offering drugs to a customer when he smashed into a residence, injured an investigator with his vehicle, and ripped across several front yards to flee.
The ADA narrated the hazardous incident on Duane Street in Farmingdale, Long Island, citing statements made by the Investigators who eventually caught Jean O. St. Vil a week ago. They claim to have seen St. Vil come as expected and pull up at a residence in a white 2013 Jeep Wrangler while he waited for his client.
Detectives left their vehicles and introduced themself as members of the police force to St. Vil. St. Vil “put the vehicle in drive and sped ahead” as they arrived, they claim, striking 1 of the investigators and slamming into the front porch of the Farmingdale house.
St. Vil was shouted at by police to pull over the vehicle and exit. Rather, they claim, he pressed on the brakes and put the car in backward before accelerating quickly along Duane Street and “narrowly avoiding other Officers on the spot.”
A search started. According to the police, St. Vil kept up his speed and ran a red light until vanishing on Route 110.
