A judge on Wednesday indicted three individuals responsible for the death of Chris Beaty, a result of the violent protest following the murder of George Floyd. Each of the trio was sentenced to more than 100 years in prison for the untimely death of a former football player from Indiana University and businessman.
In an article from Fox News, on May 30, 2020, Beaty, 38, was fatally shot and killed in an alley near his apartment building in Indianapolis; following the violent protests over George Floyd’s murder in Minneapolis.

The perpetrators, Marcus Anderson and Alijah Jones were each sentenced to 164 years in prison while Nakeya Shields received an indictment of 108 years. Apart from this serious charge, Jones and Anderson are convicted of eight counts of armed robbery and Shields of seven counts of robbery. Resulting in a very extensive stay in prison.
According to a statement of Marion County Prosecutor, Ryan Mears, “Chris tragically lost his life caring for others and his city” as stated in an article on Fox News.
His unwavering enthusiasm and support for the city earned him the title of Mr. Indianapolis. The victim, Chris Beaty, was a former defensive lineman at Indianapolis Cathedral High School. He played for the winning teams of three state championship tournaments before going on to represent Indiana University.
