US Air Force Prepares Historic Tinian Airfield for Future Pacific Operations

American Military News, United States Air Force is getting ready to use a special airfield in the Pacific Ocean again. This airfield called Tinian, was used during World War II to launch big planes with special bombs against Japan. The US Air Force wants to use Tinian again in case there is a fight with China in the future. The leader of the US Air Force in the Pacific Gen. Kenneth Welsbach says they are fixing up the Tinian airfield. He says they are clearing out the big jungle that has grown over it. Once the jungle is gone the airfield will be a big base for the Air Force.

Funding Allocated to Tinian Airfield Restoration and Pacific Base Expansion

The U.S. government is giving lots of money to fix up the Tinian airfield. They are spending millions to make the airfield better and millions more for other things like parking and fuel. The Air Force wants to make more bases like Tinian in the Pacific Ocean to keep their planes safe from Chinese missiles.
