The couple was one of the victims killed in the mass shooting outside a concert venue at the Washington Music Festival

The couple was planning to visit Greece with family, and one of the places was considered a wedding venue. Instead, Brandy Escamilla, and Jocelyn Ruiz, were killed last Saturday night in a mass shooting outside a concert venue at Washington Music Festival.

In their first interview with media, with PEOPLE since the mass shooting at Washington Music Festival, which killed their daughters, gathered by Zoom last Wednesday night to talk about the love story of their daughters. (An exclusive interview by PEOPLE)

The parents reminisced about their daughters meeting in high school, coming out as gay in their Catholic households, and living a love story for 11 years. Their story was cut short by their murders last Saturday night. The lesbian couple- inseparable in life- died and lived together.

Now, instead of planning a wedding, the parents of the couple are preparing for the funerals of their daughters

The parents said they are determined that their daughters’ love story will not end with their deaths at Washington Music Festival. The couple had planned to visit Italy and Greece.
