In Game 4 of the World Series, Zac Gallen, the Arizona Diamondbacks’ right-hander, couldn’t live up to the ace status the team had hoped for this postseason

The D-backs now face elimination, trailing 3-1 in the series. Despite starting the All-Star Game, Zac Gallen‘s postseason performance has been lackluster with a 2-2 record and a 5.27 ERA.

Manager Torey Lovullo emphasized the need for Zac Gallen to be efficient in Game 5, considering the challenges posed by a strong Rangers lineup. Arizona’s hopes were pinned on Zac Gallen and Kelly forming a formidable combo, but Gallen’s struggles have been evident.

Throughout the regular season, Zac Gallen showcased impressive form with a 17-9 record and a 3.47 ERA, making him a top contender for the NL Cy Young Award

However, his postseason woes, primarily attributed to a lack of command with secondary pitches, have put the team in a tough spot. Despite the workload, Zac Gallen remains determined, acknowledging the importance of delivering a postseason gem in Game 5. The Diamondbacks are banking on Zac Gallen’s resilience to extend the series and keep their championship hopes alive.
