Serena Williams had given birth to her second daughter

In a report from USA Today, the tennis star revealed in a TikTok video posted on Tuesday that she had given birth to her second daughter. The news was also revealed on X by her husband, businessman Alexis Ohanian, who also revealed the baby’s name is Adira River.

Ohanian is seen in the video seated at a table using a computer. Serena Williams, who is dressed in a hot pink hooded dress, motions for Ohanian to hold on for a moment as she joins him and his oldest daughter, Olympia, on a bench. She stands up and makes a cautious exit before coming back carrying the newborn, who is covered in a patterned blanket.

In his own message, Ohanian praised Serena Williams and expressed the joy the family is feeling with the addition of a new member.

At the Met Gala in the spring, Serena Williams and Ohanian made her pregnancy public. To highlight her growing baby bump, the 23-time Grand Slam champion chose a figure-hugging black dress and several pearls, posted in Yahoo Entertainment.

They had a fancy gender reveal with a drone show to learn they were carrying another girl.

Olympia was born in 2017, when Serena Williams was still competing in tennis. After giving birth, she experienced health issues that put her in what she described as a “life or death” position. She took use of the opportunity to promote improved treatment for pregnant women of color, who are more likely to die from avoidable pregnancy problems.
