Former Wimbledon finalist Bouchard is the newest tennis player to play pickleball

The 2024 season will see Eugenie Bouchard, the former No. 5 player in the world and Wimbledon finalist in 2014, Former Wimbledon, join the Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) Tour. One of the greatest signings of the year, according to the PPA, was unveiled on social media on Thursday.

New contract means for her tennis career

In a report from ESPN, the 29-year-old Bouchard is yet to address what the new contract means for her tennis career. The Canadian player never achieved the same level of success as her breakout year in 2014, when she made it all the way to the Wimbledon final, the Australian Open semifinals, and the French Open semifinals. She has played only occasionally in recent seasons due to a number of ailments, one of which needed surgery on her right shoulder.

The most recent tennis player to switch to pickleball is Bouchard

She lost in the second round of qualifying at the US Open last month and hasn’t been in a major main draw since the French Open in 2020, according to her current ranking of 215.

The most recent tennis player to switch to pickleball is Bouchard. Three-time major doubles winner Jack Sock quit from tennis this month to concentrate on the expanding sport, joining previous retirees Donald Young, Sam Querrey, and Hurricane Tyra Black.
