SpaceX Set for Exciting Liftoff: 22 Starlink Satellites Launching into Orbit
Starting five minutes before liftoff, SpaceX’s website and X @SpaceX will stream the Falcon 9 rocket launch of the 22 Starlink spacecraft. With 57 seconds left in the countdown, SpaceX aborted the Friday attempt without explanation.
Falcon 9’s first stage will land a drone ship eight minutes after liftoff if successful. This booster has launched and landed 16 times, including NASA’s Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART) and ten other Starlink missions.
About 62 minutes after liftoff, the Falcon 9 top stage will launch 22 Starlink satellites into low Earth orbit. Starlink, SpaceX’s broadband megaconstellation, has approximately 5,250 operational spacecraft and is expanding.
