The very first SSI payouts since March were received today, totaling up to $914.

Due to recipients receiving their April payout earlier on March 31, payouts were missed the previous month.

Whenever the initial day of the following month occurs on a holiday or a weekend, SSI will be paid out on the final working day before the month ends.

Additionally, beneficiaries will get 2 checks in June, September, and December but none in July and October.

SS benefits for railroad and federal employees

Some employees who made contributions to additional retirement plans may have not qualified for Social Security payments.

This applies to employees of the federal government and railroads, who may be protected by the Railroad Retirement Act and the Federal Employees Retirement System, accordingly.
