An important condition must be met before Russia will putĀ an end to the war in Ukraine, a senior Kremlin official stated on Saturday.
Sergey Lavrov, the foreign minister of Russia, said during a news conference at the United Nations General Assembly that if Kyiv agrees not to be part of a military coalition, Moscow will respect Ukraine’s boundaries before invading.
Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, and Kremlin officials have given numerous explanations for the war which started on February 24, 2022. But a few of the most commonly used arguments are that Putin opposes NATO’s expansion along the boundaries of his nationĀ and that he is particularly opposed to Ukraine joining the military alliance.
According to Lavrov, who was speaking to reporters, Moscow ” acknowledged the sovereignty of Ukraine on the grounds of the Declaration of Independence, that it approved on leaving the USSR.”
