The South Korean military said that North Korea launched multiple cruise missiles over the Yellow Sea early on Wednesday.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff in Seoul informed reporters that the missiles were discovered by the military at approximately seven in the morning.
According to the JCS, U.S. and South Korean intelligence agencies are examining the particular details.
“Our military has improved surveillance and alertness, is working effectively with the U.S. and is tracking further indications of activity from North Korea,” the brief statement continued.
The launch is Pyongyang’s most recent act of provocation; it has maintained the highest level of tension on the Korean Peninsula in years with weaponry testing and aggressive rhetoric.
