Donald Trump, a former president, has played golf for most of his life and has played with famous people from many walks of life.
But at a $100,000 per ticket event for Rudy Giuliani, the former mayor of New York City, Trump teamed up with an unexpected figure: Mahendra Singh Dhoni, a former champion of Indian cricket.
Dhoni met Trump at his golf property in Bedminster, New Jersey, while he was in the US following the 5th Indiana Premier League championship.
As per The Independent, pictures and recordings from the occasion “have been making headlines on social media.” Audiences showered Mr. Dhoni with “praise for his skill to play the game brilliantly.”
Hitesh Sanghvi, a businessman from Dubai, posted a picture of Dhoni with the former president wearing his recognizable Make America Great Again (MAGA) hat on Instagram.
“Golf with Rajiv Sharma, Donald Trump, and Mahendra Singh Dhoni. We appreciate your hospitality, Mr. President,” the caption stated.
