$2 million paid in connection with the Fabuloso settlement for bacterial contamination

Preliminary approval of a class action lawsuit settlement with the makers of Fabuloso has been given by a federal judge. The settlement addresses allegations of bacterial contamination issues that led to a widespread recall of the cleaning supplies earlier this year because of worries that consumers might be seriously infected.

Regarding 3 class action lawsuits filed on behalf of millions of customers who paid premium rates for infected Fabuloso multi-purpose cleansers, the Fabuloso settlement agreement (PDF) was revealed on November 14.

Elizabeth Dixon, Jeannie Patora, and Arnold Thomas were the primary plaintiffs in this case. They alleged that they were misled regarding the products’ safety and that they had come into contact with dangerous bacteria in Fabuloso bottles, which were taken off store shelves because of the significant health risks the items presented.
