Today, where is Jeong Myeong-Seok? We talk about the president of the JMS Church, where he is now, and the atrocities he committed.
Viewers’ eyes have surely been opened by the South Korean true crime documentary series In The Name of God: A Sacred Betrayal on Netflix. The contentious programme is brutally honest as it examines the crimes committed by four Korean leaders who duped their followers and profited from their victims’ misplaced faith.
Jeong Myeong-Seok (or Jung Myung-Seok) and his Christian Gospel Mission, the JMS Church, are the subject of one case study. Take a deep breath as we analyse where Jeong Myeong-Seok is right now and delve into the JMS Church’s universe as we address some of the questions that show viewers have.
Who is Jeong Myeong-Seok?
Jeong Myeong-Seok, who was born in 1945, founded The Providence religious movement in 1980. The Jesus Morning Star (JMS), which is also the initials of its president, was another name for the movement as it expanded. It catered to a younger audience and increased its membership throughout the 1990s.
The self-proclaimed JMS Church President was charismatic and well-liked, as is typical of these preachers. He would surround himself with gorgeous young girls while preaching, frequently discussing the Bible’s lessons. The females would be referred to as “God’s Brides,” and he would identify himself as “Adam” and “The Messiah.” Seok would perform a large portion of his construction efforts for his alleged JMS Church in educational institutions like colleges.
