Full Swing, an immersive docuseries that follows a group of professional golfers on and off the course over the whole season, marks Netflix’s continuation of its success in the realm of sports documentaries. Does the series extend Netflix’s illustrious history in the field of sports documentaries? Let’s start now.
Full Swing Season 1 Review and Plot Summary
The top golfers in the world are followed by Full Swing, offering viewers a comprehensive look at these players both on and off the course.
We haven’t seen a documentary series on golf over the years, and if we do, it’s either all about the course or about when someone retires. But Full Swing gives viewers a close-up view of these golfers, humanizing them as they follow their highs and lows on and off the course.
I don’t watch golf, but I was completely drawn to the stories of these men. I only gamble on golf as an investment. However, this made me want to support some of the athletes they covered in the future in addition to making me a lover of the sport and wanting to watch it more.
I adored Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas’s relationship the most. We learn early on that Spieth will serve as the best man at Thomas’s wedding. Spieth and Thomas have been buddies since 2007.
Although the two men acknowledge that they support one another when they are playing golf, they are fierce rivals both on and off the course. It was like two brothers battling for bragging rights, whether it was a silly game of guessing a card or playing together on the course away from the tournaments.
I didn’t anticipate becoming so upset while watching this series, but the editing was fantastic. I don’t watch a lot of golf, as I indicated earlier, but when I saw Dustin Johnson win that PGA Tournament in the first episode, I had to reach for the tissues.

Of course, we experience those feelings throughout each episode, but as I watched Rory try to win at St. Andrews, I was on the verge of getting out of my chair in support. Each episode seemed almost as though we were watching a mini-movie. Sincerely, I have to give the show’s creators and editors a lot of credit for their outstanding job.
