Matthew Edward Harvey (born March 27, 1989) is a Baltimore Orioles pitcher. He played baseball in the Major Leagues (MLB). He has formerly represented the New York Mets, Cincinnati Reds, Los Angeles Angels, Kansas City Royals, and Baltimore Orioles.
Harvey played baseball and basketball at Fitch Senior High School in Groton, Connecticut, then went on to play baseball at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
In the 2010 MLB draught, the Mets selected Harvey sixth overall. Harvey debuted in the major leagues on July 26, 2012, against the Arizona Diamondbacks, striking out 11 batters and earning his first career win.
