For the Chrisley family, these recent weeks have been pretty difficult. Chrisley Knows Best’s parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley were on trial for bank fraud and tax evasion in May. Following several weeks of heated court procedures, the prosecution lost no time in starting the case. The celebrity pair was found guilty of several offenses by the jury’s verdict, which was announced this past week. The couple’s children haven’t spoken out about the incident since it happened, but one of their daughters is finally stepping up.
Todd’s oldest daughter from his first marriage to Teresa Terry, Lindsie Chrisley Campbell, was the one to speak forward. It may have been expected that the 32-year-old media influencer, who runs two podcasts and is known for being open and honest, would talk about her stepmother and father this week. The younger Chrisley, on the other hand, stated that she will be taking a break for a bit in a message uploaded to her Instagram stories (via CNN). Additionally, she was frank in her assessment of the decision:
As I took last week off to spend time with my family, I know that the majority of you are anticipating hearing from me on my podcasts this week. The outcome is not what I had hoped or prayed for, and I am incredibly devastated for my son, myself, and my entire family. Please keep us in your prayers as we go through this trying period, and I’ll be back when it’s time. I appreciate all of your support and kindness. Her father and stepmother were charged with using questionably obtained bank loans to pay for their opulent lifestyle.
According to the prosecution
The pair provided banks with forged documents, which gave a false impression of their financial situation. The suspected false documents were said to have earned them $30 million. Also charged with wire fraud and obstructing the legal process was Julie Chrisley.
They were subsequently found guilty of bank fraud, tax evasion, and other offenses, and their accountant, Mark Braddock, was also found responsible for a number of offenses, including encouraging the submission of fake tax forms. The pair stated that they intended to appeal in a statement.
Lindsie Chrisley entered the witness stand amidst the trial drama, which included the allegation of a gay liaison. She reportedly supported her father wholeheartedly in the process. It was reported that the media celebrity cited multiple incidents in which her father stood up for his children. This supposedly includes a period of time when he helped Lindsie overcome an eating condition and supported Kyle during his battle with addiction, both of which took place before their time on television.
Following the jury’s decision
The focus has shifted to the younger children, in particular, 16-year-old Grayson Chrisley and the couple’s 9-year-old granddaughter Chloe, whom they are raising. The possibility of their parents receiving a term of up to 30 years in jail has probably made some people ponder what might happen. When discussing the possibilities, a former federal prosecutor said that if both receive prison sentences, they might wind up with close relatives. In accordance with the TV schedule for 2022, Chrisley Knows Best will have its television debut on USA Network on June 23.
Even if the family is currently facing a difficult position, viewers will likely still be interested in the future season of their show, in which the family appears to be content. How those episodes turn out and how Todd, Julie, Lindsie, and the rest of the group’s lives develop in the real world are questions that can only be answered with time.
