Jovian approached a couple on the street in New York City and said, “We’re here in New York City and we want to know what you think about abortion.” To which the man replies with a firm “Do you know who you’re interviewing?” response. “I’m Alexander Sanger,” he continues, introducing himself. Previously, I served as the executive director of Planned Parenthood of New York. Planned Parenthood was founded by my grandmother, Margaret Sanger.

“You cannot make abortion disappear by criminalizing it,” he said in response to the original question. “The only thing you do is to make it unsafe.” People of color and those with limited financial resources will be disproportionately affected by the abortion bans that will take effect if Roe v. Wade is overturned, according to the lawyer.
