Risk of Developing Dementia is Higher in Adults Suffering from ADHD Than in Other Adults

The risk of developing dementia is reportedly higher in adults suffering from attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder or ADHD more than in other adults as the disorder can be another factor in increasing the risk of developing dementia due to changes in lifestyle and even treatment.

According to a report published in US News, people with ADHD have the possibility of experiencing memory loss due to a higher risk of developing dementia, wherein studies revealed a possible genetic linkage between having ADHD and the risk of developing dementia.

While other symptoms of adults with ADHD or adults with the risk of developing dementia have similarities, health experts claimed that treating ADHD can also help reduce the risk of developing dementia, proving the link between the two conditions.
