Although owning pets has numerous health benefits for people, kissing your pet is not advisable as it can easily transmit infections and diseases, wherein kissing your pet could negatively affect your oral health; that is why taking precautions when owning pets is important.

According to a report published in The Conversation, infectious diseases can be transmitted from animals to humans through kissing your pet, such as zoonoses, which are caused by various bacteria and viruses, as kissing your pet might result in severe illnesses, weakening your immune system.

Kissing your pet, including dogs and cats, could easily transmit bacteria and viruses, and aside from kissing your pet, sharing the bed with your pets can also be risky as you are not sure what they will do to you while you are asleep, such as licking your face.
