Influenza Virus Family Removed from Future Flu Vaccines Following Undetectable Threats and Risks

The influenza virus family B/Yamagata was removed from the components of future flu vaccines following undetectable threats and risks as the influenza virus family had been suspected extinct and no longer existed when the COVID-19 pandemic happened.

According to a report published on CNN, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced the removal of the components fighting the influenza virus family in future flu vaccines because health experts believed that keeping the component would only reactivate the influenza virus family.

With WHO’s guide about removing the components against the influenza virus family, vaccine manufacturers are expected to exclude the influenza virus family from the future flu vaccines they would provide for public consumption.
