A significant new study has determined the potential causes of the current increase in early-onset dementia cases.
Researchers at the Universities of Exeter in the United Kingdom and Maastricht University (UM) in the Netherlands have discovered 15 factors that are connected to the onset of dementia at a younger age.
On December 26, 2023, the study’s results had been released in JAMA Neurology.
Lead study author and Maastricht University postdoctoral scientist Stevie Hendriks, PhD, informed, “This study demonstrates that there are numerous indicators of risk for young-onset dementia.”
A few of them are inherited, but others are modifiable by altering one’s lifestyle.
