Wisconsin Governor signed a bill that sends more funds to every city, town, village, and county. The part of a deal the Wisconsin Governor struck with Republican lawmakers is to increase funding for K-12 public schools and send more funds to private schools that accept students.
Wisconsin Governor Evers signed the bill encircled by a bipartisan group of lawmakers and Milwaukee leader. Local governments have been insisting on more state fund aid following years of stagnant funding that have forced cuts to essential services like protection from law enforcement agencies.
Milwaukee suffered from an underfunded pension system and funds to maintain essential needs like police, fire, and emergency services.
