$500,000 Walmart Settlement After Selling Illegal Weapons Online in California

As part of the Walmart settlement, the largest retailer will pay $500,000 in settlement for selling illegal brass knuckles to California customers online despite being illegal in the state.

Authorities received a report that an individual was arrested for possessing illegal brass knuckles and claimed that the weapons were bought on Walmart’s official website, which led to the current Walmart settlement.

Before the Walmart settlement, authorities discovered during the investigation that more than 250 illegal brass knuckles were sold directly from Walmart’s website while other retailers were selling some of them online to California customers.

According to authorities, brass knuckles were banned in California because of their dangerous features that can give anyone severe and fatal injuries in just one punch or hit, ABC7 reported.

Aside from the $500,000 payment, the Walmart settlement also required the retailer to stop selling the illegal brass knuckles online and encouraged other retailers to remove them; however, up until now, online retailers still sell the illegal weapons on different websites.
