During this summer, vulnerable adults at risk for heat-related diseases can receive a fan or air conditioner through the help of the Operation Fan Heat Relief Program.
Operation Fan Heat Relief Program will help vulnerable adults
Elders and persons with disabilities can now avail of fans and air conditioners this summer to limit their risk of heat-related diseases. Operation Fan Heat Relief Program will help these vulnerable adults.
The Operation Fan Heat Relief Program for vulnerable adults will start on Monday and ends by October 31 this year.
The Fan Heat Relief Program for vulnerable adults is made possible through the efforts of North Carolina Area Agencies, Local Service Providers, and the North Carolina Department of Health.
Vulnerable adults may take these steps during high temperatures
- Spend time in places with fans and air conditioners.
- Increase Fluids intake.
- Do not do strenuous activity during the afternoon.
- Visit your doctor before summer.
