Several volunteer firefighters expect to receive property tax relief following the approval of tax incentives expansion, which will provide them additional service credits and benefits for volunteering to help.
According to reports from Trib Live, several eligible volunteer firefighters already received income tax credits of up to $300 in 2020, allowing several municipalities to give property tax relief to the volunteers.
Following the approval, expanding the tax incentives for volunteer firefighters will provide the benefits they deserve for always doing their best at work and providing services to others, which can encourage other residents to join the fire company.

Eligible Volunteer Firefighters Will Expect Up to $2,500 in Property Tax Relief Following Expanded Tax Incentives
Under the approved tax incentives expansion, several volunteer firefighters among 46 members of Wexford Volunteer Fire Company will be eligible for up to $2,500 in property tax relief—a large relief, especially to individuals who pay more than $500 in property taxes.
Some eligible volunteer firefighters reportedly received tax relief under the homestead exemption before.
