As a result of a boost to the working families tax credit, Michigan is scheduled to issue payments totaling an average of $550 to about 700,000 families in the Great Lakes State in twenty-two days.
A payment equivalent to the gap between the 6% working households tax credit on qualifying residents’ 2022 tax returns and the 30% credit amount under legislation signed into law last year is being sent by the state to qualifying Michiganders.
The state said the checks will be distributed on a regular schedule over a period of five to six weeks, starting on February 13. The total tax credit amount will give 700,000 families in the area an average tax refund of $3,150.
