For people who are still promised funds by the government, the last day to request tax refunds from 2019 is quickly approaching.
In a news release, the IRS noted that 1.5 million taxpayers have unpaid federal refunds and advised them to submit a tax return for the 2019 fiscal year by the last day of July 17.
In a news release this past week, IRS Commissioner Danny Werfel stated that “a lot of individuals may have missed submitting a 2019 tax return because of the outbreak.”
The COVID-19 pandemic could have made it difficult for some people to file their 2019 and 2020 tax returns on time, therefore the IRS offered aid by eliminating the necessary return charges. The Treasury, yet, will hold the cash from people who do not submit by the deadline because it is getting close.
Werfel stated, “We don’t want individuals to lose their chance to obtain their return.
