On Friday, beneficiaries of the Supplemental Security Income program of the Social Security Administration got their 2nd payout for June, which can amount to as much as $914 for single filers.
The check being paid is the 2nd of 2 checks for June. Due to an error in the Social Security Administration’s calendar, it would replace July’s payout. On June 1st, the very first payment was sent.
In contrast to the usual, beneficiaries of Social Security benefits in June received two payments due to a minor scheduling error that sent them a pair of checks in months where the initial check of the month that comes next occurs on the weekend. Since July 1 falls on a Saturday this year, the 2nd payment for June is replacing the payment for July.
Even if beneficiaries receive 2 payments in certain months and none in others, the modified timetable guarantees that they continue to get 12 checks annually. This year, 2 payments will be made in the same month in 4 months: March, June, September, and December.
