In just eleven days, the Texas Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program will start disbursing benefits for September that could total up to $1,691.
In the Lone Star State, SNAP payouts are distributed throughout the first ten working days of every month; the date of distribution is determined by the individual’s eligibility determination group number. The next round of payments for September will start on September 1 once the final payment for August is made on August 15th.
As per the Texas Health and Human Services Commission website, SNAP payment levels in Texas vary depending on the number of people living in the family. Solo families receive $281, while families with eight people receive $1,691. Families with over 8 people receive an extra $211 per person.
SNAP eligibility is determined by the income of the family. A family of one person cannot earn above $1,869, while a family of five people cannot earn more than $4,465.
