The state awarded six places to support recycling efforts. Texas City is one of them

Texas City will receive money to support the recycling efforts of the city. The award is given to Texas City from H-E-B and Keep Texas Beautiful, Texas State Program.

The state will celebrate 100 years of the Texas State Parks with the theme Our Texas, Our Future. The H-E-B will select underserved and rural communities to give funding for infrastructure development.

Aside from Texas City, Cuero, San Angelo, Pharr Ingleside, and Burleson will receive $30,000 from the state.

Texas City recycling projects

Texas City will use the award money to get and send polyethylene terephthalate (PET) straight to the mill. PET is mainly for making the packaging material for products like beverages and fruits.

Texas City will also use it to replace damaged balers, buy portable yard ramps, conduct seminars and create signage regarding the importance of recycling in the community.
