Texas City has initiated a Summer Meal Program aimed at ensuring children and teens aged 18 and below, as well as students with disabilities up to 21 years old enrolled in the district, have access to healthy meals during the summer break.
Summer Meal Program in Texas City
The program aims to support their learning, growth, and overall well-being even when school is out. Under this program, children and teens can enjoy nutritious meals at no cost. Beginning on June 5, individuals can simply visit any of the designated meal sites to participate. The following locations and serving times have been set up for the convenience of the community:
- La Marque High School: Meals will be available from 7-9 a.m. and 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
- Texas City High School: Meals will be available from 7-9 a.m. and 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
- Blocker Middle School: Meals will be available from 7:30-8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
- Carver Center: Meals will be available from 7:30-8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
- Giles Middle School: Meals will be available from 7:30-8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
- Kohfeldt Elementary: Meals will be available from 7:30-8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
- Nessler Center: Meals will be available from 7:30-8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
- Sanders Center: Meals will be available from 7:30-8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
- Greater Barbours Chapel Baptist Church: Meals will be available from 8-9 a.m. and 12-1 p.m.
By offering this Summer Meal Program, Texas City aims to ensure that children and teens in the community have access to the nutrition they need to thrive and succeed, regardless of the school break.
