Tennessee Grocery Tax Holiday Will Allow Buyers to Purchase Food and Ingredients Tax-Free for Three Months Starting August 1

The Tennessee grocery tax holiday will aim to allow buyers to purchase qualified tax-free food items and ingredients starting August 1 until October 31, wherein the Tennessee grocery tax holiday will be implemented under the Tennessee Works Tax Act.

With the Tennessee grocery tax holiday, buyers will expect qualified tax-free food items and ingredients for three months under the Tennessee grocery tax holiday, which will greatly help residents, especially low-income families and households, who have been struggling to purchase groceries.

According to the Department of Revenue, buyers can purchase any liquid, solid, dried, or frozen food item or ingredients as long as they qualify under the Tennessee grocery tax holiday and are subject to the free tax, News Channel 5 reported.

Here is the List of Food Items NOT Qualified Under the Tennessee Grocery Tax Holiday

Almost all food items and ingredients are qualified under the Tennessee grocery tax holiday, but here are some of the food items that will not be tax-free with the Tennessee grocery tax holiday:

Food items such as tobacco and alcoholic beverages, food that can be purchased from vending machines, prepared food, and packed food are exempted under the Tennessee grocery tax holiday, Elk Valley Times reported.
