Last Friday, the Texas Supreme Court ruled the non-profit ERCOT Texas qualifies as a state entity and is protected from lawsuits

Many people didn’t know what ERCOT Texas was until the 2021 winter storm disaster. The courts will decide whether it qualified to have legal protections for more than two years since much of Texas lost power during the winter storm that swept Texas.

There are legal battles over the lives affected by the ERCOT. Then after hearing arguments against ERCOT Texas, the  Supreme Court decided that ERCOT Texas is a governmental unit and will be protected from lawsuits.

There are a lot of lawsuits against ERCOT Texas, not just connected to the winter storm but to other things that are going away because of the court decision.
