Colorado Governor Jared Polis sided with the corporate, hedge funds, and their powerful lobbyists over and against the affordable housing that side people’s concerns in Colorado, according to EmilyForCO.
The Colorado Governor explained his decision through a letter that he supported and believed local governments could buy these properties to preserve low-cost housing.
The lead sponsors of the bill that the Governor vetoed were Sens. Faith Winter (D-25) and Sonya Jaquez Lewis (D-17), Reps. Andrew Boesenecker (D-53) and Emily Sirota (D-9). The four lawmakers condemned the decision of Colorado Governor Polis in a joint statement.
