SNAP beneficiaries will expect new work requirements following the debt ceiling deal.
SNAP Beneficiaries Will Have Stricter Work Requirements Under New Debt Ceiling Deal
As part of the new debt ceiling deal, several SNAP beneficiaries, including the homeless and veterans, will have to follow stricter work requirements to be eligible for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) food benefits.
According to AP News, there are millions of SNAP beneficiaries who have been receiving monthly benefits from the program that help them meet their basic needs and allow them to put food on their tables every day.
However, with the incoming stricter new work requirements that will take effect in 2025, several SNAP beneficiaries aged 49 to 54 will be required to join training or work for at least 80 hours every month if they still want to be eligible for the benefits.
