Two simple options are available: checking online through INTIME or calling the automated refund line at 317-232-2240 (option 3). All you need is either your Social Security number or taxpayer ID along with the exact amount of your expected refund.

The DOR advises patience mentioning that electronic filings typically take about three weeks to process tax refund, while paper filings may take up to 12 weeks. Once the DOR initiates a direct deposit, it usually takes about seven business days for financial institutions to process the funds. However, delays could occur if there is missing information the DOR requests more details, or if there is a math error on the return.
