Almost 5,000 Ireland Renters Receive Termination Notices Despite Eviction Ban

Despite the eviction ban in Ireland, there were almost 5,000 renters that received termination notices on their homes issued by their landlords in just the first three months of 2023.

According to the reports, almost 5,000 termination notices that were issued for the first quarter led to the increasing number of homeless people who are in need of affordable housing and accommodation in the state.

Several landlords issued the termination notices without thinking and considering that hundreds of families would have a hard time finding new and more affordable houses if they were kicked out of their current homes despite the eviction ban.

High Number of Termination Notices Alarm Ireland Officials

The landlords who issued termination notices had various reasons, including selling the properties and moving into the homes despite the eviction ban, which alarmed not only the renters but also the Ireland officials.

The rising number of termination notices will lead to thousands of renters who will be homeless when evicted from their current homes without any other places to move in due to lack of emergency accommodation offered by the government, Irish Mirror reported.
