Amidst the increasing cost of living and inflation in Delaware City, the proposed income tax increase will aim to support infrastructure projects and economic development in the city, wherein the proposed income tax increase will address the economic challenges faced by the city.
According to a published report in The Delaware Gazette, the proposed income tax increase will aim to support infrastructure projects or improve roads, streets, and buildings ongoing in the city.
Before the proposed income tax increase, the city last experienced a proposed income tax increase in 2010 and saw an increase in water rates and other operations while the recent proposed income tax increase aims to see the same results.

Delaware City Council Members Debates on Having Proposed Income Tax Increase Permanent
Following the introduction of the proposed income tax increase, the city council members are debating on whether to have the proposed income tax increase permanent or not due to the failed permanent proposal in 2016.
However, the city council members are still trying to decide about other details of the proposed income tax increase, ABC 6 reported.
