Texas Homeowners Will Expect Up To $12.3 Billion in Property Tax Break Under New Proposal
Several homeowners in Texas expect to receive a property tax break of up to $12.3 billion under a new proposed plan focusing on cutting the property tax rates to zero.
According to CBS Austin reports, the proposed property tax break in Texas will focus on lowering the property tax rates in several school districts, including their operation and maintenance rates so that several homeowners will receive relief.
Under the proposed property tax break, Texas officials will seek to eliminate the property taxes completely for several homeowners instead of only providing short-term tax relief.

Proposed Property Tax Break to Undergo Several Special Sessions Until Its Approval Following Criticisms
Despite the presented benefits that the property tax break will provide, the proposal still received criticism from other individuals, including Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick, who expressed his opposition to the proposal.
The critics also claimed that eliminating property taxes completely, just like what the property tax break proposed, is not possible and unrealistic.
The proposed property tax break will undergo other special sessions until its approval despite the criticisms it received.
