Northampton County senior residents can receive help in filling out Pennsylvania Property Tax or Rent Rebate application forms at four locations in March.

The Northampton County Area Agency on Aging and the Department of Revenue will provide free assistance to file Pennsylvania Property Tax or Rent rebate on the following schedules

  1. March 7, 2024 (Thursday) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Park Plaza Senior Community Center, 1800 Sullivan Trail, Forks Township (610-829-3201)
  2. March 13, 2024 (Wednesday) from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Cherryville Senior Center, 4131 Lehigh Drive, Lehigh Township (610-767-2977)
  3. March 22, 2024 (Friday) from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Slate Belt Senior Citizen Center, 707 American Bangor Rd., Washington Township (610-588-1224)
  4. If there are enough requests, hours may be added on March 25, 2024 (Monday) from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Slate Belt Senior Citizen Center
  5. March 28, 2024 (Thursday) from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Northampton Senior Citizen Center, 902 Lincoln Ave., Northampton (610-262-4977)

The Pennsylvania Property Tax rebates are for eligible residents 65 and older, widows and widowers 50 and older, and people 18 and over with disabilities.  Complete eligibility guidelines for Pennsylvania Property Tax are posted on the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue website.

The Pennsylvania Property Tax/Rent Rebate program was expanded last month

Qualified homeowners and renters can receive Pennsylvania Property Tax rebates of as much as $1,000. The household income limit is now $45,000 annually. That expansion of Pennsylvania Property Tax rebates will make about 3,700 more senior Northampton County residents eligible for Pennsylvania Property Tax rebates.

Applications for Pennsylvania Property Tax rebates are due by June 30, 2024. If extra funds become available, the deadline will be extended to December 31, 2024.
