The Missouri Higher Education Loan Authority or commonly called MOHELA denied its involvement in the lawsuit filed against Biden’s student loan forgiveness plan, which led to the disapproval of the proposed plan.
Following the lawsuit against the proposed debt relief, there were claims that MOHELA, a student loan company in Missouri, was involved in the lawsuit and had been working to help disapprove the student loan forgiveness plan, which reportedly would hurt MOHELA.
However, MOHELA repeatedly denied the company’s involvement in the case while the employees of MOHELA claimed that they were also shocked and confused about the claims that resurfaced after the disapproval of the proposal.
Biden’s Student Loan Forgiveness Plan Might Hurt MOHELA and Other Student Loan Companies in Missouri if Approved
With the proposed student loan forgiveness plan, MOHELA and other student loan companies in Missouri will expect negative impacts as the cancellation of student debt will directly harm MOHELA.
Yahoo Sports reported that the debt relief plan was disapproved due to its negative effect on MOHELA and its process; however, lawmakers can still pursue the proposed plan if they really want.
